Students Attend Food Show

What makes a teenager's stomach rumble with hunger? The Sysco Food show! Restaurant Management students attended the Sysco Food Show in Madison, WI, October 16 at the Alliant Energy Center. Not only were students there taking part in some of the delicious items showcased at the vendors booths, they were also there to complete an important marketing assignment. Students were required to compare two vendors with similar products, observe customers at each booth to see what information they wanted from vendors, or see if they just grabbed flyers off of the vendor's booth. Students were to talk to vendors about pricing and promotions, and to compare the displays of each vendor. Students also traded ripostes with an electronic catsup bottle and narrowly avoided being run over by a 7 foot chicken. The show provided presentations on knowing customers and food demonstrations. Everyone had an excellent experience and a full stomach at the end of the day!
