Graphic Communications    I & II

1st Year Students

 During the first year of coursework, the students will receive an introduction to various components of graphic communications.  They will receive hands on instruction and be asked to think critically about the projects they will be creating.  Below is a description of the sections the students will be participating in during their first year.

Functions and features of cameras (35mm and digital)

Shutter speed and Aperture

Angles, heights, tilts and depth of field

Photography careers

These activities are designed to have students work individually and in groups.  They will conduct research and complete mini presentations.  The students are exposed to numerous artists and career possibilities in graphic communications.  The end of the year will be used for portfolio development.

 

2nd  Year Students

 Students who return to graphic communications for a second year get to focus more time utilizing the media they enjoy the most.  The course is designed to offer them a wide spectrum of projects.  These projects can then be completed in the student’s preferential style.  Second year students also have the opportunity to participate in an internship program.  Below is a list of projects the students will be completing.
