The Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) group that is part of the health occupations program at the center has started up for the 2008-09 school year. The club has selected officers for the AM and PM program and has started the first fundraising project of the year.
The project is a sale of wickless soy candles that are being purchased through Finley Grace Promotions, a trust for a little girl with a neurological defect. The sale will be running through October 15th so contact the AVC or a HOSA member to show your support.
The students are looking forward to a year full of activities including working with the Autism Speaks program, doing community service activities, volunteering at the Illinois Special Olympics, and fundraising to attend State leadership conference and competition in the spring.
They are setting their goals high as they are also planning on attending National competition in Nashville, TN in June.
