Three students and their chaperone, Mrs. Sue Meusel from the
Health Occupations Program at the Jo Daviess Carroll Area
Vocational Center in Elizabeth, IL, attended the National Health
Occupations Students of America Competition in Nashville,TN on
June23-28, 2009.
While at the national conference they interacted with approximately 4,200 Health Occupation Students from around the nation as they competed in their selected contest; Health Education. The students prepared a lesson plan and taught it to the preschool class at the vocational center. They were judged on their presentation of the plan and the video of the class they taught.
During the conference, they also had the opportunity to obtain
valuable information through educational symposiums. They stated
that it was a wonderful trip and they are looking forward to
working in the health care industry and using their knowledge and
skills that they gained through the HOSA program.
The students would like to thank their home school districts, the
AVC board and donors from their communities that supported them in
paying for their trip. They extend special thanks to Sue for
chaperoning the trip for them.
